Pink and Black.

“BABE, How’s my PINK nail-polish?? Isn’t it the Barbie shade?”

 Ha-ha ! So typically girlish…ain’t it?

“DUDE, what’s the color of your polish, ain’t it BLACK?”

And this one…is..the rocker chick !


           Being a “RED” person, (as I like to call myself !) ; I have realized every girl has two prominent colors playing equal roles within her- PINK ‘and’ BLACK! Probably many girls might condemn it but, it is true !

            A beautiful, long yet an interesting journey with innumerable hurdles, pleasant and precious moments and certain irreversible de trop times constitute the life of a girl! PINK ‘and’ BLACK- two colors exhibiting the strong, opposing sentiments existing within her. Her ‘Pink’ side shows her sensitivity, her responsible and her caring nature which dominates her personality during times of Emotional Upheaval- during times when she carries a new womb in her life; during the time when she parts her soul, body, respect and her complete self to her partner; during the time when she catches up with her best friend after a long duration in order to cover up for the incessant talks piled up! At all these times, even though her Black side which resembles Strength, Will-power, Self-confidence backs out a bit, it is still there…hidden inside her…to come out and reflect the split personality in her when the situation requires her to do so!

                Certain moments are a mixture of both the colors, like, while falling out with your girl-friend on small matters only to again sit back and laugh over the stupid reason of their fight…In spite of the respective girl’s egos during the fights; the emotional bond that each girl possesses, does not allow her to be lonely ever; to continue to brood over the fight instead of patching up!

            PINK ‘and’ BLACK exists in the lives of every girl, lady and woman- how much ever you look into the past or the future, how much ever superstitious you are, how much ever practical you get! There is also a transition which is noticeable in girls from PINK to BLACK. PINK is the color that dominates the childhood and preteen days but when the girl is in the formative years before becoming a ‘lady’, she acquires the color BLACK. Though later on, both of them take up to their respective roles!

              If Gossip is her Pink side, Bitching is her black..if first love is her pink side then controlling herself after a break-up is her black side. Some girls don’t get the opportunity to live their pink side to the fullest and therefore take up to black, sooner than usual and such girls are then termed as – B*****S in the contemporary times who are known to be heartless..and all, but when we actually peek at the inner self of these girls, we realize how softly bound they are, sensitivity is at its best amongst such girls.

              These instances that every girl goes through rewards her by making her life colorful enough to not let her notice that she is actually made up of-

Assumptions and Expectations!

 
Assumptions and expectations walk hand in hand in human beings. Right from the time we are born, our parents start mounting up their expectations on us not realizing that we may not be capable enough to fulfill all their desires to the fullest extent. On second thoughts, it is actually assumptions which create expectations ultimately, because once it is assumed that a person can execute a particular task, it is expected of that person to satisfy it to the required effect. Burdening ourselves has become more of a habit these days, and no, it may probably not be something that we ask for but are just invested with...and not by a person or two but by everyone with whom we acquaint ourselves.

If we actually take a note of it, do we realize that people approach us, only for getting their expectations fulfilled by us, right from our parents to our friends to even god-damn strangers!
We may rather be compared to donkeys than the much level-headed antecedent apes. The burden on the backs of the donkeys should be compared to our noetic burden and the expectations due to the burden. Well, talking about assumptions, our world trots only on them, for instance, “If a child scores above 90% in 10^th, he’ll crack the IIT and become an Engineer.” “If the child has taken up Arts, he/she is just an average student.” And, of course, it just does not limit to study, but is extended to every other topic on earth and from there starts people’s favorite past-time: Gossip. It is this Gossip on which people in the 21^st century live on, and if the assumptions don’t suffice, there are ready-made stories well woven ready to be served at a Kitty Party or at the club. So typical, ain’t it?!

When will people start realizing, there is a personal life worth living?! There is something known as privacy which matters to every individual. People love it when they are not at the receiving end, but when they are the primary people in it, they dislike it. Why only blame parents when even our friends, close friends, girl/boy-friend, wife/ husband also assume and expect things from us? It is much of a normal thing now, to be exact; it is more of a Cliche and a Habit now, something that now even we have become happily adjusted to and living with, without any complaints! That is how life is, teaches us, we can live with whatever comes and goes by and so will these assumptions and expectations.
