The Winning Streak.

Humility makes winners, and pride maketh losers! A competition can show the
true colors of people and their sportsman spirit. That's what I've come to
know post a recent event. If dogs are meant to bark, they will. But men be
wiser, and ignore their howls because we know we will go across unhurt.
These comments can be shuddered with a lot of patience and wit, and I'm
glad that my team- Publicity has immense of it. :')

To the team, for having proven the hard work put in over the last few weeks.
I'm glad I could undergo such a blissful experience with every member of my
team. It's not any more about I or Me, but about US.

Life is all about seeing the highs and lows. But Publicity is all about
seeing those highs and lows together. United we stand, United We Fall.

Those Virgin Memories.

Untouched and pure, which strike a smile or make you shed a tear just at the thought of it, that consists of a plethora of memories. You not only emote while undergoing a circumstance, but also while, you run it in recap in your mind.

As you live each day of your life, you unknowingly tend to relate some past memory thereby making yourself feel happy or sad, suiting your mood; altering your disposition.

That's how human mind works wonders! The Brain not only worries about the present and the future but also drags it's business on the past. And then we rush to our doctor, to analyse the cause for stress.

Certain memories whether good or bad must let be virgin- pure and untouched; for the best thing about memories...is making them. :')

Where does the Trust Lie?

As she dutifully circled behind him around fire as the witness, she had handed over rest of her lifetime into his hands. And that night, she even proved it. After all, that's what she had been taught right from childhood. That she would get married to "God" himself and it was her Karma to spend her life in his service. Looking after his needs and desires, and he would take care of her essentials.
She believed in the regulations and respected the society. No one in her village had ever gone against them and if they did, they were not spared.

The first night was the only night where her trust was fulfilled. With every passing night, as he got bored of her, he began to lie. The trust began lying, too. He was a seeker for pleasure, she was seeking him. He seeked body, she seeked love.  But in the whirl, he got tired whereas she got the tears.

Her mind wandered to find answers to justify his lies, where as his body wandered to find places to justify his pleasures. She slept every night questioning herself," To where have I lost myself? Where does the trust lie?"
She only regretted, and wondered, “Only if I had NOT believed the society, probably I could live a life that belonged to me.”

Stop living your life with regrets, because someone you trusted, broke you. Lay your trust in the right people so that never comes the day when, trust lies to you.

The shade of Grey.

How many times in your lifetime have you chosen a “Maybe” over a Yes or a No?
Or at least have you wished there be a third option in your life for every decision you are entitled to make?
There is a very fine line between what is wrong and what is right. What is correct and incorrect? What is rectifiable and what is not. Between, a simple Yes and a No.

Your decisions make people judge you. It makes people believe in what you carry, as a person in your head. Whether you are true to your convictions or not. The shade of grey is more or less, the battle which your conscience involves in that you cannot overlook. And, most of the times, it is the safest place to be in. You know why?
Because, in that place you aren't answerable to people around you.

Is this all going over your head?
Let me explain!
For instance, how many times post a test have you contemplated about the result?
Irrespective of the fact, whether it is a pregnancy test or a school test, haven’t you learnt to soothe your senses and make yourself believe that “Whatever happened was meant to happen. It is okay. You know ‘Spur of the moment’ thing?”

This ‘spur of the moment’ is in real situation the shade of grey in your life. When you are meant to take a decision that will make you or break you, either you need to pay heed to your conscience or just ignore it.

There is always a shade of grey available at your disposal, but it is only temporary relief. Your decisions in the long run can only be a Black or a White.
Because, a coin has only two sides! Even if it stands on the edge, it has to fall on either side.

Is it still GLORY GLORY MANCHESTER UNITED?

Lots have been said from the start of 2014 about Football's most controversial and popular club: Manchester United which boasts of having the beautiful Old Trafford as its home ground.

Old Managers have resigned, and new have been appointed; the team has changed; new players have been bought in; the team strategies have also been altered conveniently time and again, in a period of hardly 10-13 months. And, irrespective of all this, the performance only seems to depreciate, drawing more criticism than required.

Between Moyes joining and leaving, there were various rumours afloat about the way fans reacted, about how Fellaini was forever "The Favoured" in the matches and more. Especially post the heavy defeats against Sunderland and Liverpool in the Premier league; everything seemed to turn downhill for the club. It even resulted United losing major fan base globally and its many sports and food franchises closing down! But some fans, still stuck on. The real ones, there.

Further, Louis Van Gaal was roped in as a new ray of hope for not only the team but also for the fans. And, as the Friendlies were won, faith was restored and the expectations began to soar. Now, as players have been bought worth $200 million, speculations are rife, if it is actually worth? Whether the breath of new players like Di Maria, Herrera and Falcao can create the quite required stir, and if the United heroes- Rooney and Van Persie will continue to score well?

After yesterday's 5-3 loss against Leicester City, people seem to yet be in a fix. But, I believe it is only faith, belief and support in the team that can take it forth!

Just as every night turns to see a new sunshine, it'll soon be Carpe Diem for United as well.

TRAVEL SURVIVAL.

As the winds blew, and the cold weather made a chill run down everyone’s spine, she stood there with her arms folded around herself, waiting for the bus to arrive. With two heavy luggage bags, she was all set to leave the town. She was dreaming about how amazing this journey was going to be for her, the first one with her friends. She was only half a day away from joining them on this long planned trip. That is when her thoughts were interrupted by the screeching halt of the State Government bus, in which she had to spend the night. But this, did not bother her as much as the stare of the guy who stood beside her at the bus stop.

Then her thoughts floated back to the TV news she had been listening to the whole morning, of the gangrape of Nirbhaya in Delhi. About, how brutally she had been thrust into the path of darkness and death. All these thoughts made her comprehend how risky this journey of a few hours could turn out to be for her…

Today, these thoughts are not limited to this one girl alone, but to a million who live along the length of this country. What made India different, a century ago, makes it different yet now. While then we would proudly state this nation to be our motherland, now it puts us to shame. Each and every person in this country is constantly on a journey, literally and otherwise. And, out of 10 people who are traveling, if 5 are women, all the 5 are constantly under the fear of being cornered and endangered. What are women, these days? Species on the verge of getting extinct? Seems so like it.

Travel is a vital aspect of each one’s lives that you cannot rule out. Being a college student myself, I spend nearly half my day outside my house, majorly traveling. Similar is the case of any other girl or woman, staying in any part of the country. But, with the number of cases against women increasing, wandering freely on the roads is turning out to be a threat. It is funny, that a woman feels safe to travel abroad with her friends, being absolutely assured of her security. But the same woman, has to think thrice before stepping out of her house in Bangalore, at 11:00 pm for something important.

Indian tourism will soon come to a standstill due to this mentality. There will be a time when, travel agents will have to sign contracts to ensure women’s safety if they agree to visit this country, for our society is turning to become a vulnerable one. But things need to change, and sure it will, if we learn how to take care of our women and provide them with safe travel experiences. Hence, travel scenes should alter and, for the good.

The Fault in my Stars?

Throwback. July 2nd, 2014 :

That day was such which I can’t help but pen down, for I made new friends who are still un-named but people I’m going to remember for the rest of my lifetime. Not for some heart-amazing reason, but just because they were companions, who spent those longest three hours with me in the Ist Class compartment of the 10:49 am local train.

And, here is the complete account.
“What made today different from any other, especially since I’m writing a complete post on it?
Well, every minute detail.
Right from the fact that I was getting treated at the Press Club of Times of India, where only 'journalists' dine. I was more than excited to be called for lunch there, since I had just been an intern. With all the excitement in me, I got dressed up for the lunch so that I could be there on time. Whilst on the way, I decided I would stop by college for some work. As I boarded my 10:49 local from Thane, I’d hardly thought it would be one adventurous ride today, without even reaching halfway to my destination.

The train, steadily passed Vikhroli and Ghatkopar, taking more halts than usual. It was only when we had passed Vidyavihar that the train came to a standstill. Right between, Kurla and Vidyavihar, in the middle of nowhere. After an hour of listening to my playlist and reading Economic Times, I decided to look up and inspect the matter, a bit. By then, women who had been standing had started getting down the train and walking on the track, while a majority still remained in the train not budging at all. As time passed, conversations ensued. Some complaints, some ranting, some panicking, while rest phone calls. But, anyhow the entire compartment was talking. We could hear men from the adjacent compartment also engaging in similar activity.

Hours passed and not for a second did it seem as if the train was going to move an inch. As I stood gazing out of the window, looking for some signals and counting the number of fast trains passing did I realize that getting down would be a better option. So, finally I did jump down along with three other females. As a matter of fact, we were some of the last ones to get down. But still, there was no sign of a Thane bound train, which only meant, I had to walk my way back to Vidyavihar. So I did. And, trust me, never for a moment did I feel alone, it was like half the Mumbai crowd was on tracks. Mumbai had come to a standstill.

Finally, walking through tracks and streets, I found my way to Ghatkopar station in order to ultimately board a train back home. But, what actually struck upon me was the approachability every Mumbaikar carries. Irrespective of whether you know the one in front of you or not, it takes only a smile to connect. A talk to open up, and there builds a new friendship.”

No anonymity, no strangeness. Only too much Love.
“Mumbai may not be my city, but it is my kind of city.”

Excuses don't win Championships.

Walking past a BMW or a Porsche, how many times have you wondered only if a chauffeur drove you around in that luxury vehicle?
Right when a blonde stepped out of her wheeler and gave you her ounce of attitude or shrugged you off, have you felt determined to achieve all of what came free to her and slap it back on her face?
You may not call it Jealousy, but that is what it is. And, frankly enough, no shying from the word.
There is no need to be ashamed to be green-eyed, because that is exactly what will help you strive through your struggle and help you accomplish the hardest destination.

Why is Shahrukh Khan more revered in the country than Salman Khan, as far as his hard work is concerned?
Because nothing came easy to him. He took a route, every second of us have to opt.
The discrepancy in this country between the rich and the poor is vast, and we got to roger that.
But, no need to make a hue and cry of it. Rather strive to change it.
I quote Karl Marx here, “From each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs.”
Draw lines on a plain map, and mark your territory, for no one should have the nerve to erase it off.

There’s not a single person who does not want to feel revered. In the eyes of a few, or the entire world, that is his or her personal choice. What matters is the brawl you take upon yourself, resolute and gritty. Through tough times and more, creeping and crawling towards the light.
Whoever said, the route from Darkness to Light or Failure to Success, is difficult was right. But that is exactly what keeps us going, right?

If everything was right down there at your doorstep, why would your journey be remarked a unique one?
Why would you be revered in the first place?
A notion “He got it all easy!” has already been formed.
True or not, you decide.

Next time, the BMW chic shrugs you off, glance back at her, until her eyes hurt!

People always Leave...

Fear grips you when you're at loss, but at the same time, Fear gives you the courage to handle your loss.

For the farthest time, I can trace back, life has been bitter and sweet providing me moments of joy and sorrow. And, talking about sorrow, one such time is when you lose someone or you're living with the realization of losing.

We humans are under this constant fear of losing our loved ones. No fault in it, considering the pertinent faults in the nature, surrounding us. We grow up in a world where we create most of our problems and then act as guinea pigs to face them, like pride-filled donkeys.

Just by the way, these issues might not even be as huge as I showcase them. Even while people leave for short periods, people make a hue and cry of it. Hardly do we realize that these breaks are necessary, in order to start with a good new. However much explained, it sounds like a dying person saying, "Hang on! My soul is going to soon be back." Especially, when we are already aware of various cons.

No wonder, when someone leaves, they leave behind a vacuum in the hearts and minds of the close ones. And the pain caused by the vacuum is usually short-lived, and there are more chances of someone else filling up that space too. But, I really don't think anyone can do justice to the importance of the former person or even get close to being that. We must realize that each one holds a special position in our lives and it is essential to not close the doors of our heart in order to deny anyone else's entry. It is hard to swallow the truth, but people always leave. And, that seems to be the order of our lives.

Someday, you will leave this place and so will I, hurting the lives of many, in the process. But, isn't that the nature's rule? Finally, what goes around, does come around.

Money Hai toh Honey Hai.

Switch on the TV. Flip over on the couch. Run through channels. Stop on MTV. Splitsvilla is going on. My thought process, quote "Idiotic reality show with girls and guys jumping over each other. Fame and money can make people do anything." Watch for 5 minutes. Switch off the TV. Walk towards the bedroom and think of doing something more useful in life.

Shoot. Those thoughts were not erased off my mind, so soon. Ensuing on those very thoughts, I continued...
Today, Maal, signifies the correspondence of both the stuff which people crave for: Money and Honey.

The living that each one conducts, these days has gone for a toss, with a new routine:

If earlier, it was-

Slog- Work your ass off- Get Paid peanuts- Save however much possible- Arranged marriage in 20's- Build a neo-middle class family by your late 40's.

Now, it's become-
Start working early- Use and Reuse Media- Build contacts- Work for a short period- Centralize Fame and Money around you- Marriage if necessary, or flirting is as healthy.

Kidding.
But, however much Indians deny the fact of dowry and money-inclined marriages, the fact still remains that, unless the boy as well as the girl rake in a good amount of moolhas as their CTC, they hardly stand a chance to woo his/her prospective spouse.

(I mean a well qualified and favored one.)

You think this is wrong?
Well, I don’t. Each individual is concerned about his/ her future which revolves in and around those "saath pheras", then why not make the right choice?

But what disgusts me, is the line, beyond which people are ready to fall these days, in order to claim the plane to attain both, Money and Honey.
So, next time that a guy or a girl comes up to talk to you after checking out your Mercedes A class or your Zara outfit, it is not you who attracts the other person. It is that particular material you own.

Beware. The trap is spread. Period.

Summertime Sadness.

No!

If you feel this post is in anyway connected to the beautiful song by Lana Del Ray, you're highly mistaken. For, this is just another post where I'm going to rant about some topic. This time, the topic being: SUMMER.

Everyone is aware that Summer's begun when:

1. Every other kid in the colony is shouting out their friend's name to call him downstairs to play 'cause it is Vacation. (More so, cause there is plenty of time to enjoy only until results.)

2. The stock of watermelon in your fridge never seems to cease 'cause fresh stock is made available by your mom as frequently as possible.

3. Yoghurt or Curd is a must have each day.

4. Every other person around you is flaunting their glares irrespective whether the Ray Ban on it is fake or real.

5. Suddenly Mumbaikar women have taken up the cue from Puneri women to scarf up not showing a bit of "however made up" their face is.

6. When all of a sudden, the roadside Nimbu Pani wala turns your best friend a.k.a thirst savior.

7. When you switch your AC on at night after a long tiresome day at 18 degree Celsius along with the fan running at full speed. Albeit all this, you sweat and grumble in the middle of the night about Mumbai's humidity and summer.

8. When you feel like roaming around in your shorts and T-shirts. I mean the chicks. Well, the guys would prefer going around naked too! :P

9. When, if you search a women's handbag, even if she has no money, she'll surely be carrying a Sunscreen with her.

10. Finally, you know it is summer when you can rant about "It being so hot" to some random stranger in the bus or your auto rickshaw driver.

Feel bleh and all, this summer.
Hope we survive Summer'14 too cause YOLO. With too much ranting.
Sad Summer y'll! :D
